Dirty cash

A short post, just because I feel I haven't really done anything recently enough here and that makes me feel bad. Like Telf, I have a couple of posts I want to spend a decent amount of time writing, so hopefully those will go up soon, maybe over half term which is coming up in about a week and a half. For now, you get this disparate collection of flotsam from my mind.

Firstly, I've come across a couple of good blogs recently. Little Man, What Now? has no particular theme (much like this very blog), but the guy who writes it seems to be fairly astute and he updates fairly regularly (someone I could take influence from then... ahem). de-noted is another I've enjoyed. It's good as a blog that takes five seconds to check, again is updated regularly, and often has material both amusing and thought-provoking.

thistimeitwillbedifferent is a film news, reviews and opinions blog run by my friend Sam, who I know through the PGCE course I am currently undertaking. He's a sharp guy who knows his films and knows his opinion on films so it's worth checking out to get a fresh view. And speaking of film review blogs, what better time than now to shamelessly plug Drink Your Milkshake which is now up and running. The design is pretty basic and in no way finalised, and I'm still ironing out the kinks in the labelling system and working out the best way to catalogue reviews, but there are now film reviews up there by both Andy and myself, and I'm very pleased with how things are going over there so far. I'm hoping to get the first music review up sometime this week to help expand the blog's dimensions.

The final link goes to Left-Handed Toons (by right-handed people), a webcomic I discovered a couple of weeks ago. It takes a little while to get into the humour of the comic, but I've found it consistently funny, managing to maintain a higher level of comedy recently than some other webcomics I have read for a longer amount of time. It's on a similar wavelength to xkcd, not quite at the same level, but then xkcd is pretty much a benchmark for webcomics of its type.

Lastly, welcome to Hannah. I've enjoyed reading your comments on past entries here, and look forward to seeing your contributions. It's safe to say that this blog is expanding nicely, even with a couple of "sleeping partners" - and also ones like me who seem to suffer from bouts of blogging narcolepsy.

I can't claim I'll be any less narcoleptic than yourself... given how bad I am at updating my own blog, and you may see a certain amount of duplication of posts between it and here... but I'll try and restrict that as much as poss. But thank you for the welcome :)

I love the final analogy, just as an odd though, one of the "sleeping partners" is soon to become my sleeping partner which is fun. It's Joe by the way, and although our relationship is pretty damn close, it's not that close, so put away your dirty minds for the moment.

Errr... I've forgotten what I was going to say on top of that... ah yeayers! Would game reviews be welcome on DMM? I'm happy if they're not.

Finally, a vague response to Hannah about her blog, mine has most definitely taken a back burner for the time being, mainly because I use this blog as my main outlet now, but also because I seem to have managed to reduce the amount of complete crap that I want to post, thus I don't have to filter my posts between here and there. I also don't have many readers so I may "close" it down and forward my readerbase (about 2 people) to here.

Anyway enough of Andy rambling.

*The two previous comments, where essentially the same as this but with mistakes and then a comment highlighting one mistake, then I noticed there where more so thought I'd start again. I really need to read through things before posting them.

Yeah, the 'sleeping partners' line confused me slightly as well. But I don't need a partner for sleeping. I can do it perfectly well by myself...

And, Andy: I like the fact that in your paragraph about how you should read through things more carefully, there's a spelling mistake. Beautifully timed.

See? SEE? I am not the only one who deletes comments because they have clerical errors in them!! IN YOUR FACE TELFORD.

Yeah seeing I can't find it I'm going to assume it has something to do with my inability to use the English language.

I think it may be that I used where instead of were, but I'm not entirely sure, I never quite got the wear, where, were, ware, wair thing

You're right Andy, it wasn't a spelling error per se, just the wrong choice of word.

"were" is the plural past tense of the verb to be

and "where" is often, but not always a question signifier.

"wear" is what you do with clothes and "ware" could possibly be the singular of "wares" which are goods for sale.

And you might just have made "wair" up... dictionary anyone?

hah haaa, you fell for my trap.

I'm pretty sure wair is made up :D

wear and ware are generally no brainers, where and were can cause me strife at times thought, so thaks for your explanation.
